“Productivity Indicators to be issued will be guiding in economic
issues for economists and for those who rule” said Secretary General
and Member of the Board Kerim Ünal
Kerim Ünal joined the Morning News at TRT
Channel on June 30 2009 and gave information on Productivity
Indicators which were issued by MPM. He stated that the indicators
were published in a book form and now these indicators will be
published on our web page following the protocol signed with
TURKSTAT. The data received from TURKSTAT will be calculated and
quarterly and yearly indicators will be issued on our web page.
Kerim Ünal stated that these indicators which
cover 113 main and sub sectors belonging to the last quarter of 2008
which can be seen on our web page have been calculated by a group of
experts constituted within MPM.
“The the value added index per person employed
will be issued. This index will be compared with the data of the
previous year. Unit labor cost index will also be issued. These
data will be both useful for the foreign investors. As the
decreasing indicators in the last quarter of 2008, increasing values
in other sectors are also drawing attention. The decrease in
manufacture of transport equipments per person employed has been
%30,3 compared to the previous quarter. The decrease in quarterly
indicators of the metal industry has been 23 %, and this value is %
24 for yearly indicators compared to the previous quarter. The
increase in manufacture of wood and wood products in the same period
has been 19,6 % compared to the previous quarter. The increase in
the quarterly indicators in the manufacture of vegetable and animal
oils and fats has been 13,9 %, and it is 23,7 % compared to the
indicators of the previous year. The increase in manufacture of
railway and tramway locomotives and rolling stock per person
employed has been 27 % compared to the previous quarter” said he at
the TV programme.
Following the TV programme, Kerim Ünal also
attended to a radio programme on TRT1 Ankara Radio titled “Gündem”
and talked about Productivity Indicators at this programme as well.
