100 MOST FAMOUS CEOs OF
THE WORLD TO MEET IN TÜRKİYE IN 2010
Nearly 100 famous company executives and
CEOs from various countries of the world will attend to the 16th
World Productivity Congress and European Productivity Conference to
be hosted by MPM in Türkiye in October 2010.
MPM Committee of 4 people represented Türkiye
at the World Confederation of Productivity Science (WCPS) meeting
held in Montreal, Canada on April 22-25, 2009. Headed by MPM
Secretary General and Vice President of the European Association of
National Productivity Centers (EANPC) Kerim Ünal; the committee
included Deputy Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Mehmet Eroğlu, MPM
Technical Consultant Dr. F. Zehra Özkan and Head of International
Relations Department Dilek Özdemir.
In addition to Türkiye; representatives from
the US, Canada, the UK, China and India also attended to the meeting
where a series of crucial decisions were taken. As is known; it was
decided during the meeting in South Africa in September 2008 to
merge the 16th World Productivity Congress with European
Productivity Conference and organize together as a single event in
Türkiye for the first time. After that, various meetings have been
held at international platforms about the 16th World Productivity
Congress due to the economic crisis that rapidly expanded in the
world after the decision for the convention was taken.
Discussions were held to organize the meeting
in Istanbul as the first option; an agreement has been reached to
organize the congress in Antalya both due to the difficulty of
finding an available place as Istanbul would do the honors as the
European Capital of Culture in 2010, and also the related tenders and
reservations could only be realized in the first quarter of 2010 due
to the regulations MPM is subject to.
“Bridge Country in the World Economy: TÜRKİYE”,
“Innovation and Productivity”, “Productivity in the World of Global
Crisis”, “New Strategies and Productivity in Global Competition”,
“The New World and the New Future: Cooperation, Sharing and
Productivity” topics have been identified as the main themes for the
Congress and Conference, and it has been indicated that many
delegates from Asia, Europe and America; mainly from the USA, China,
Canada, India and the UK would attend to the Congress and
Conference. The statements of the representatives from other
countries at the meeting indicate that minimum 400 foreign delegates
will attend to the 16th World Productivity Congress. Also taking
into account the domestic attendants and the Social Party Members of
MPM, it is estimated that approximately 700-750 people will attend
to the congress.
Within the scope of the congress preparations,
intense cooperation talks will be held with the social parties of
MPM such as TOBB, TİSK, TZOB and Universities and the Ministry of
Industry and Commerce. MPM’s Secretary General Kerim ÜNAL said: “The
16th World Productivity Congress and the European Productivity
Conference, which will be held together for the first time in 2010
will be a great opportunity to widely promote both the concept of
productivity and Türkiye”. Ünal also indicated that they consider
this event as very important and they are expecting support from
every section, mainly from the social parties for the Congress.
