Productivity indicators related to the third quarter of 2009 have been published on 1st of February (today) by National Productivity Centre of Turkey.

Following the cooperation intercourses in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, MPM Delegation continued with official visits to some productivity related organizations in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan between 07-11 December 2009 within the context of studies titled “Initiation of Establishing Productivity Collaboration Networks in Asia and Caucasus” referred in MPM 2007-2011 Strategic Plan and 2009 Work Plan. As well as The Turkish Embassy in Bishkek, MPM Delegation also visited two universities, one Ministry and a nongovernmental organization and took some important steps for collaboration.

“It is our duty to issue quarterly indicators according to Law No 580. Our Centre published productivity indicators in energy and manufacturing sectors before, in a book format, but they were not up to date and so they were not useful for the related sectors...
Changes Seen in Quarterly Productivity Indicators in The First Quarter of 2009
National Productivity Centre of Turkiye has published the quarterly productivity indicators (2005 based) related to the first quarter of 2009 on 03.08.2009. When the results are analysed, it is seen that production per hour worked has increased by 0.8% in “mining and quarrying” and by 3% in “electricity, gas and water supply” compared to the same quarter of the previous year (1st quarter of 2008).

The election for presidency was on the agenda of European Association of National Productivity Centres (EANPC) at the Board Meeting of EANPC held in Bilbao Spain on 3 April 2009. Presidency of EANPC has been held by Peter Rehnström for nearly 10 years.

15th World Productivity Congress Held in South Africa
15th World Productivity Congress was held in Sun City South Africa between 22-24 September 2008 in which Türkiye was represented by MPM’s Vice-Chairman of the Board; Prof. Dr. Mehmet Eroğlu and Secretary General and Member of the Board Mr. Kerim Ünal. The Congress started with the addresses by North West Premier; Ms. Edna Molewa, Chairman of WCPS; Jean Claude Lauzon, Minister of Labour of South Africa; Membathisi Mdladlana and a message by ex-Prime Minister of Canada Mr. Jean Chretien.
MPM’s Secretary General And Member Of The Board Mr. Kerim Ünal Has Been Elected as A Fellow for World Academy of Productivity Science
MPM’s Secretary General and Member of the Board Mr. Kerim ÜNAL has been elected as a fellow for WAPS (World Academy For Productivity Science) at the 15th WPC in Sun City. Productivity Awards were given to 14 people; 3 fellows were elected from America and Europe, 3 fellows were elected from Asia and 5 people from Africa.

Kerim Ünal; MPM’s Secretary General and EANPC’s Deputy President has been awarded the prize of “bureaucrat of the year 2008” by ELSİAD (Elbistan Industrialists & Businessmen Association). He received this prize within the context of “The Awards for the Best Bureaucrat of Elbistan and “The Awards for Merits Raised by Elbistan” on account of both his “efforts in energy sector” and also his studies in improving productivity across the country as a result of surveys and research on industrialists and businessmen
The award ceremony for the Employee-Employer, Businesswoman and Businessman of The Year was held under the host of Minister of Industry and Trade Mr. Zafer Çağlayan at the meeting hall of National Productivity Centre.
